Senior Credit Analyst (Singapore)

With revenues of over US$120 billion, our client is a global leader in agricultural, food, and risk management. The successful candidate will be a member of a Credit Risk team that provides credit analysis and risk management support to business units operating with a global mandate in Coal, Emissions, Energy Risk Management Solutions, Ferrous, Natural Gas, Ocean Transportation, Petroleum and Power.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with commercial team to develop appropriate credit responses.
  • Underwrite credit requests for new customers and review current exposure limits for existing customers. Exposure limit requests require rigorous analysis and succinct communication of customer financial position, business prospects, sector outlook, and commodity values underlying the transaction.
  • Determine and negotiate adequate credit support documentation including netting and margining agreements, pre-financing agreements, guarantees, standby letters of credit and relevant credit terms in trade contracts and agreements.
  • Independently perform monitoring and reporting of credit exposures and execution of credit control procedures and ensure compliance with Credit Policies.
  • Perform (rotationally with other credit team members) daily margining collateral process involving calculation/verification of the amount of collateral that a counterparty may be required to deliver to the Company (or the Company will need to deliver to the counterparty) to meet margin calls. Notify and collect margin amounts from counterparties, or initiate margin transfers when necessary.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial credit analysis, with credit analysis in a trading environment a plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and international GAAP, has worked with contracts and credit documentation, including negotiations with customers, and has a good working knowledge of the capital and commodity markets.
  • Self-starter, ability to manage own workflow and priorities during a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Ability to establish a rapport with external customers and internal business partners with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a strong communicator able to synthesize detailed credit information into succinct credit limit requests, work cross-functionally, and willing to contribute to broader process improvement initiatives of Credit Risk Management.
  • Proficient computer skills, advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A least a Bachelors Degree in Economics, Accounting, Business or Finance
  • Excellent written and spoken English
