Boks tambahan pada sepeda motor muncul akibat ada keterbatasan ruang penyimpanan. Jadi, boks tambahan sejatinya adalah wadah penampung barang bawaan seputar perlengkapan berkendara. Namun dalam prakteknya banyak pengendara yang asal memilih boks tanpa menyesuaikan dengan kendaraannya dengan harapan dapat menampung banyak barang bawaan.

Padahal, hal utama yang harus diperhitungkan saat pemasangan boks tambahan adalah unsur keselamatan dan juga estetika. Penggunaan boks harus disesuaikan dengan bobot kendaraan. Ukuran boks yang terlalu besar dapat mengganggu kenyamanan berkendara, dan bahkan dapat pula berpotensi menimbulkan kecelakaan. Hal ini berkaitan dengan pengaruhnya dalam bermanufer, stabilitas saat berkendara, serta ruang gerak dari pengendara sendiri. Selain itu, boks yang terlalu besar juga akan mengganggu juga akan mengganggu pandangan mata pengendara (dari kaca spion) saat melihat ke arah samping belakang.

Jadi, untuk para pengendara yang ingin memasang boks tambahan sebaiknya menyesuaikan dimensi boks yang akan dipasang dengan ukuran tidak boleh melebihi lebar dari dimensi stang. Apabila melebihi kapasitas yang sewajarnya, bukan hanya stabilitas dan kenyamanan berkendara akan terganggu, tetapi juga dapat membuat konsumsi bahan bakar menjadi lebih boros, umur suspensi dan juga ban akan lebih singkat karena menahan beban yang tidak semestinya. Pebalap MotoGP asal Malaysia Hafizh Syahrin mulai tahun depan tidak akan memperkuat Tim Red Bull KTM Tech3. Pasalnya, tim ini telah memastikan Brad Binder untuk menggantikan posisinya pada tahun 2020. Hafizh dinilai belum maksimal membesut KTM RC16. Di musim perdananya Red Bull KTM Tech 3, dari sembilan seri yang telah dijalanan, dia baru mengoleksi tiga poin dan belum satu kali pun masuk dalam 10 besar. Padahal, di musim 2018 bersama tim satelit Yamaha Hafizh sanggup mengkoleksi 46 poin dan menduduki urutan 16 di klasemen akhir balapan.

Sang pengganti sendiri (Brad Binder) pernah menjadi juara Moto3 pada tahun 2016. Selanjutnya dia bergabung dengan KTM pada ajang Moto2 hingga sekarang. Rekam jejak itulah yang membuat KTM menarik pebalap asal Afrikan Selatan tersebut ke ajang MotoGP. Diharapkan Binder mampu bersaing dengan pebalap-pebalap papan atas di jagat Motogp untuk tahun 2020. Usai melakoni kejuaraan dunia MotoGP di sirkuit Sachsenring Jerman, Valentino Rossi hanya mampu meraih posisi ke-8 di belakang Joan Mir. Kondisi tersebut tentu saja membuat pebalap yang dijuluku “The Doctor” ini menjadi frustasi. Pasalnya, dibandingkan pebalap Yamaha lain (kecuali Fabio Quartararo yang terjatuh), performanya paling buruk. Bahkan, dibandingkan dengan tahun lalu, catatan waktunya lebih lambat sekitar 20 detik.

Menurut Rossi yang dliansir oleh GridOto dan Crash.net, dirinya punya ekspetasi tinggi di Sachsenring, tetapi sepanjang latihan bebas hingga kualifikasi hasilnya tidak memuaskan alias kadang cepan dan kadang lambat. Walhasil, ketika balapan berlangsung hasilnya kurang memuaskan dan hanya mampu finis di urutan ke delapan.

Rossi sendiri masih bingung dengan penurunan performanya, terutama di empat Grand Prix terakhir dengan tiga kali gagal finis dan satu kali di urutan delapan. Rumor yang beredar para pebalap Yamaha memakai sasi yang berbeda dengan Rossi, sehingga mereka dapat memperoleh hasil lebih baik. Namun rumor ini tidak ditanggapi Rossi karena dia merasa tidak ada perbedaan dengan motor lain dan hanya masalah setup saja yang belum ditemukan solusinya (AG/01/2019).
