Champion Waterflood Sr Planner at Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd

Purpose of Job
BSP has a large portfolio of projects distributed over 4 main Assets, both green field as well as many brown field and rejuvenation projects. In 2006 it was decided to set up a separate organisation for the execution of all Major projects in BSP to improve project delivery. The largest and one of the most challenging Major projects is the Champion Waterflood project. This project is well progressing through the Select phase and needs a dedicated Senior Planner. The project covers the design, fabrication and installation of a multitude of platforms and related pipelines, power cables and umbilicals as well as upgrade and extension of many existing facilities. Projects in BSP are typically executed under BSP management i.e. all design, fabrication, procurement and installation works were done in house or under BSP direct supervision and therefore a very hands on approach is required. Fabrication is executed under a frame agreement in BSP’s own fabrication yard in Kuala Belait.

The nature of the project (heavy brownfield bias early in the project) is such that meticulous project planning is required to minimise disruption of ongoing operations.

The project Senior Planner develops, maintains, updates and improves the Integrated Project Plan showing key & relevant activities in levels of details as required. Coordinate and incorporate individual approved project plan data, maintain alignment & high level log of changes, assumptions and KPIs. Provide necessary planning direction and support to contractor planners.

Dimensions
The Champion Field is the largest field in the East Asset Unit and one of the largest in BSP. It is a geologically complex field containing some 30 fault blocks and more than 500 reservoirs and has been producing since the early ‘70s. Though with a long production history and the first water injection scheme implemented in the mid ‘80s, recovery from the field has remained less than 30%. The implementation of water injection in Block 13/14 and the de-bottlenecking of the existing WI plant over the last 2 years aimed at providing an injection capacity of 20,000 m3/d marked the start of a commitment to pursue secondary recovery in the Champion Field. Over the next 5 years, it is planned to significantly expand the field development study efforts in Champion so that recovery can be maximised and the development plan optimised and in full synergy with the different areas of the field as well as other fields within the asset unit. This project will be one of the most important projects in BSP’s forthcoming business plan and is of significant strategic importance to both shareholders (Shell and Brunei government) from the perspective of achieving the aspired Reserves Replacement as well as sustaining BSP’s production.

The Facilities project value is in excess of 1 Billion BND.

Lotus returns to Formula 1 since they left in 1994

The famous Lotus name will be back on the F1 grid next year, the FIA has confirmed. The governing body revealed on Tuesday that the Lotus F1 Team entry has been accepted to fill the vacant space left by the departing BMW Sauber, which has also submitted what has been described as an 'impressive application'.

With 13 positions currently available on the grid next year and several entries left to select following BMW's July announcement that it will be pulling out of the sport, governing body the FIA confirmed on Tuesday that the Lotus name will be returning to the sport for the first time since 1994.

However, the Paris federation also gave hope to the Hinwil-based team, who had also applied for the 13th and final 2010 entry in the wake of BMW's decision to quit the sport.

The FIA described Sauber's application as "impressive", but said Lotus had been selected for the definite 2010 entry because "there are still uncertainties" about the former team's future ownership.

Sauber has instead been awarded the "14th place" in the 2010 pitlane, even though at present the sporting regulations and Concorde Agreement allow a maximum of 13 teams.

But the 14th place entitles Sauber "to fill any vacancy that arises on the 2010 grid", and in the meantime the FIA will "urgently" commence talks with F1's existing teams about expanding the grid to 28 cars in time for next season.

The latest version of the Lotus team will be funded by both the Malaysian government and a consortium of Malaysian entrepreneurs. The full title of the outfit will be 1Malaysia F1 Team, based at the factory of RTN in Norfolk, England. The building, only ten miles from Lotus Cars, was originally built for Toyota's F1 organisation at the start of the decade before Bentley used the facility for its Le Mans team.

Funding will be provided by the Malaysian Tune Group - the company behind airline Air Asia and headed by Tony Fernandes, who will also be Team Principal - with Mike Gascoyne making his Formula One return as Technical Director, having left Force India last year.

The team will be using Cosworth engines with gearboxes provided by Xtrac and aerodynamics developed by FondTech.
