We currently have two openings for a Senior Engineering Technician.

SENIOR ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
BASIC FUNCTION
The Senior Engineering Technician provides support for projects, including creating sales orders, bill of material and assists with field “in-service” when projects are complete. This position is responsible for detail check of circuits, design checks, breakdown testing, operational testing and continuity testing of electronic equipment, tags and pull sheets. This position is a liaison between engineering and manufacturing during shop production. This position also assists with training new employees and maintains manufacturing schedules.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Supervises: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. *Performs detail check of circuits and wiring detail on projects.
B. *Details all circuits for field tie-ins.
C. *Check all Bill of Materials.
D. *Addresses issues on Bill of Materials.
E. *Answers questions from contract managers and shop personnel concerning projects.
F. Performs factory testing of equipment after shop production, updates CADD drawings, and creates new drawings.
G. Performs breakdown testing and operational testing for locations before shipment to the field.
H. Performs factory inspection of finished equipment working with customers.
I. Assists with field in-service, supports the implementation of new signal systems.
J. Assists engineering team with field support, testing and placing equipment in service; assists field engineer with the completion of discrepancy lists at the completion of transit projects.
K. Prepares submittals, creates drawing lists, draws circuits and checks bill of material.
L. Performs tag and continuity checks and assists in operational tests.
M. Develops detail information for signal circuits and relay house layouts.
N. Arranges relay house layouts.
O. Checks detail information for signal circuits by other engineers.
P. Distributes/checks CADD work or detail work of technicians assigned to the project.
Q. Checks tie-in circuits for existing locations.
R. Creates and maintains Bill of Materials.
S. Details and checks Bill of Materials with ISO forms.
T. Implements detail/material changes required by change order.
U. Attends Company and industry-related meetings, as required.
V. Establishes individual goals which are aligned with the Company's business strategies and objectives.
W. Functions as a contributing member of the department's team and other teams, as assigned.
X. Assists the department in the accomplishment of the team's goals.
Y. Performs other duties as assigned.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
A. This position requires working in both the internal and external environment. Activities occur inside and outside where the position will be subject to changes in temperature.
B. This position will be exposed to physical hazards and equipment where special training and safety considerations are required.
C. This position has occasional exposure to noise, vibration, moving equipment, and various environmental conditions.
D. This position requires working nights, weekends or non-regular hours to meet deadlines.
E. This position requires frequent travel.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
A. Two year certificate (college or technical school) electrical or computer technology related.
B. High school diploma and four years related experience in Railroad Signal field.
C. Basic knowledge of electrical theory and terms.
D. Basic knowledge of circuit detailing and continuity testing of circuits.
E. Basic knowledge of wiring circuits.
F. Experience in shop production.
G. Experience in crossings installation and design.
TECHNICAL ABILITIES
A. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
B. Good typing skills.
EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS
A. General office equipment including, but not limited to:
• Telephone
• Copy machine
• Fax machine
B. Computer, peripherals and the Microsoft Office software.
C. Industry related equipment including, but not limited to:
• Meters
D. Computer software including, but not limited to:
• CAD
