1. Director, Project and Infrastructure Finance Department
Job Summary:
Reporting to the President, the Director of Project and Infrastructure Finance Department is responsible for the overall financial performance of the department.
The role entails the identification, preparation and appraisal of projects; structuring financing and loan recovery programs; undertaking sector review and other investment related intelligence studies; drawing the Department’s project financing strategies; developing credit policies and guidelines and ensuring implementation and managing the work of the department, including the economic research function.
Job Specifications:
* Post graduate degree in Banking, Commerce, Finance, Business or Economics
* A minimum of 10 years experience in project management, at management level, in Commercial / Development Banking, Finance or similar institution
* Project appraisal skills, including project cash flows, risk analysis and hedging techniques
* Proven leadership skills and an innovative approach to work with the ability to motivate staff in a demanding environment
* Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills with ability to work in a multicultural setting

2. Director, Trade Finance Department
Job Summary:
Reporting to the President, the Director of Trade Finance Department is responsible for the overall financial performance of the department.
The duties include identification, preparation and appraisal of trade finance transactions; structuring financing and loan recovery programs; undertaking sector review and other investment related intelligence studies; drawing the Department’s trade financing strategies; developing and implementing credit guidelines and ensuring implementation and managing the work of the department, including the economic
research function.
Job Specifications:
* Post graduate degree in Banking, Commerce, Finance, Business or Economics
* A minimum of 10 years experience in structured trade and commodity finance including at least 3 years at management/supervisory level, in a Commercial/ Development Finance environment or related institution
* Demonstrated track record of solid performance in previous positions
* Proven leadership skills and an innovative approach to work with ability to motivate staff in a demanding environment
* Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multicultural setting
Location: The position alternates between Nairobi, Kenya and Bujumbura, Burundi.
3. Director, Legal and Corporate Affairs Department
Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the President, the Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs Department, advises the Bank on legal matters and assists management in the formulation and development of Bank policies and practices and participates in their evaluation in view of continuous adaptation to prevailing circumstances.
The position holder is responsible for ensuring that that the Bank’s rights are protected and that the Bank operates within its Charter, regulations and other legal requirements.
Job Specifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) and a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM), preferably Corporate, Finance or Trade Law and a license to practice law in any of the Bank’s member countries. Additional qualification in Banking, Finance or French law will have a significant advantage
* A minimum of 10 years supervisory/managerial level experience in progressively responsible legal positions in Commercial/Development Banking environment or related institutions
* The candidate should demonstrate a strong legal background either as a corporate lawyer or as an Advocate of the High Court
* Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills with ability to work in a multicultural setting
Location: The position is based in Bujumbura, Burundi.
