NDT TECHNICIANS / NOT OPERATORS

Essential job duties:

• Perform daily NDT activities (UT, MT & PT) for all ongoing projects in all shifts.
• Daily monitoring of NDT results & reviews, along with customers & 3rd party reps.
• Ensuring NDT is performed as per scheduled work-plans with adequate resources & in accordance to codes / specs and standards with highest, efficiency and reliability.
• Able to train & supervise NDT related Trainees and technicians.

Requirements:

• Shall be certified as a minimum to ASNT level II in UT, MT & PT, with valid certification (PCN qualified are preferred as well).
• Should be able to work consistently under a challenging onshore & offshore construction environment with least supervision.
• Shall have at least 2 - 3 years of hands-on experience in performing UT, PT & MT in either shipyards or oil / gas fabrication industry.
• Familiarity with international codes / standards, is a must, with a good technical skills in the evaluation & interpretation of various weld configurations and defects in structural, piping and pressure vessels.
• Shall report to yard NDT Coordinator and should be matured, a quick learner, a team player & an individualistic and maintain credibility of company and self.
• Possess self-confidence and having ability to deal with personnel at all levels and nationalities & performing work with the highest ethical standards / norms.

Hamilton feels He is a Prisoner

Lewis Hamilton claims he has become disillusioned with Formula One and compared the current political to wrongful imprisonment.

The 24-year-old has had a turbulent start to his career since his rookie season in 2007, and this year he has been embroiled in the "lie-gate" affair after being accused of misleading stewards following the Australian Grand Prix.

To compound Hamilton's woes, McLaren are off the pace this term, and the world champion was heavily critical of his car during the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona last weekend.

Hamilton, whose hopes of defending his world champion title this season are extremely slim, added: It hasn't affected my driving. I won't allow anything to affect my driving. But it affects your life, it affects the way you are.

Alonso planning KERS slingshot

Fernando Alonso is hoping to be catapulted off the starting grid thanks to the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) on Sunday. The Spaniard will start the Italian Grand Prix from eighth on the grid for Renault with three non-KERS cars ahead of him.

A demon getaway from Alonso would not be his first at Monza, as the Champion of 2005 and 2006 also enjoyed a move from fourth to second by the first corner on a damp track in the 2004 race.

"We had a few doubts about reaching Q3 this morning so we are happy to have made it through," Fernando said after the session.

"In the end we missed being in fourth or fifth position by a very small amount. I hope to have a good start to the race tomorrow and gain some places using the KERS." Those most threatened by Alonso's system are Vitantonio Liuzzi and the championship-leading Brawns of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello.

Hamilton conscious of Force India pace

World Champion Lewis Hamilton will lead the field at the start of a race for the second time this season at Monza. The McLaren driver repeats his Valencia pole to start alongside Adrian Sutil but is not underestimating the man behind him.

With good friend Sutil driving the highly competitive Force India, powered by the same Mercedes engine as the McLaren, Hamilton knows that his mirrors will have to be used wisely during Sunday's race.

"It was a very close qualifying session and I'm very happy to see Adrian up here," Lewis commented. "It has probably not been since F3 that we were in a press conference together and qualifying together!

"They are incredibly fast and competitive but our team has done a great job this weekend; I was able to put the lap together and it's such a great feeling to put that lap together; the public have to imagine what it's like - it is the most exciting, exhilarating thing."

After explaining that every pole position feels just as special as the last, Lewis admitted that the leading place has come as unexpected in Italy. "I don't think we anticipated being as quick as we are this weekend," he continued. "It's a bonus for everyone here - they keep pushing and have done a good job."
