Milan midfield star Gennaro Gattuso could be out for six months after suffering a serious knee injury against Catania.
The pugnacious Azzurri ace seemed fine during the San Siro victory and played the full 90 minutes.
But the Rossoneri's official website has revealed that Gattuso was sent for tests after reporting severe pain after the game.
Provisional indications are that Ringhio has torn his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee - a very serious problem that requires a lengthy recovery period.
The 30-year-old will undergo tests tomorrow in Antwerp with Dr Marc Martens and club medic Jean Pierre Meersseman.
