SurfAid International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the alleviation of human suffering through community-based health programs. We perform our work in isolated regions connected to us through surfing and are professional, highly energized, innovative and youthful in our outlook.

We are now seeking an experienced leader to manage our community programs in Nias, Sumatra. The key responsibilities of this position include project managing SurfAid’s ongoing programs, managing the operations, coaching and mentoring our program and field teams and ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation of the programs and reporting on the outcomes.

The successful applicant will be SurfAid’s key representative in Nias and will be professional, performance orientated and highly motivated. He/she will demonstrate a proven ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and possess the following attributes:
· A minimum of 2 years experience in managing development projects in developing countries, preferably in Asia;
· Strong management, people management and representation skills;
· Demonstrated project management, planning, and monitoring and evaluation skills;
· Ability to understand and follow financial procedures, understand and administer donor contracts, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines;
· Excellent communication and relationship building skills;
· Strong report writing skills;
· An ability to work independently and cooperatively with staff members and stakeholders;
· Strong computer skills with specific expertise with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Public Health, and /or nutritional or medical experience is preferred, together previous experience in developing countries and with NGO communities. Advanced English skills are required and Bahasa Indonesian language skills (or a strong willingness to learn this language).
