Reporting to the Africa Operations General Manager, the East Africa Product Manager is responsible for the overall cost-competitiveness and supplier contract management of the Gap Adventures East Africa product, including group, independent, custom and charter partner travel programs as can be effected and determined in East Africa.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
• COGS Reduction and Management
• Supplier Contract Management
• Product and Relationship Research and Development
• Customer Satisfaction through Value Innovation
• Competitive Research and Industry Analysis
• Promote and Development Brand Presence
• Company Representative in the region of East Africa
• Budget Development and Adherence
Requirements:
Characteristics, Skills, Experience, And Knowledge:
• Have a degree in Business Administration, Tourism Management, Financial Management or Accounting
• East Africa travel industry experience an asset, with 5+ years in Product and/or operations roles within a tour/travel/safari operation
• Sound computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint/Keynote, and ability to train others
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Spoken languages required to be fluent in both English and Swahili
• Ability to work independently and Co-operative/team approach
• Self-Motivated, Proactive, Forward thinking
• Organized and particularly very high attention to detail
• Customer service oriented
• Analytical thinking
• Office administration and organizational skills
• Driven and motivated by a dynamic, fast-paced environment where change is the norm, and have a willingness to learn and be challenged by continual professional development
