Responsibilities
Segregarted proprietary IT team is a specialised team supporting proprietary trading business in a very dynamic environment and involves daily interaction with the traders on a daily basis.
Successful candidate will work as a team member in segregated prop IT team. The systems we have are designed to be performance oriented as well as to provide solid support the business. As such, responsibility includes almost all aspects of IT project cycle such as requirement gathering, system design, programming, test, release and maintenance
Skills
· UNIX/Linux (preferably multiple flavours of them) at the level of configuration, system internals, file system, IPC
· Ability to diagnose network-related issues with IP, TCP, UDP, broad/multicast
· At least two programming languages : Mandatory C++ plus Perl/Python are a preference, others may include C# and Java
· Software design : ability to understand the high-level set of requirements and convert it to functional spec and system design. OOD, UML are plus
· System call level programming in C++ (threading, memory management, file operations, network operations)
· Debugging and diagnostic utilities on UNIX systems (gdb, truss/strace, sotruss, snoop/tcpdump, etc.)
· Experience with public domain C++ component and algorithm libraries (Boost, ACE, ...) is a preference. Both commercial and academic projects qualify
