Job Description Reporting Analyst:
# Developing and optimizing business intelligence and reporting solutions.
# Works with internal customers in understanding reporting requirements, defining scope, developing and testing reports and cubes to meet user requests.
# Identifies issues related to database that show up in the reports and subsequently communicates to resolve and eliminate Data Quality problems.
# Documents business requirements, enhancements, scope change, data mapping.
# Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) required.
# Familiarity with metadata modeling techniques and best practices.
# Ability to perform SQL statements to perform data validation & analysis.
# Understanding of effective report/dashboard design and standards.
# Employ analytical, conceptual, and creative thinking skills to improve overall business and systems performance.
# Study, evaluate, and document current and future business processes.
# Support overall project management and business strategy related to Business Intelligence
# Strong database skills
# Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment
# Ability to quickly learn new systems, adapt and refocus in a fast paced, agile development environment
# Strong investigative and troubleshooting skills
# Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities
# Work with project lead, analyst, and business users to understand business processes, gather and document project requirements and translate them into functional and non-functional specifications for BI reports and applications.
# Develop parameterized reports through Reporting Services (SSRS) from a variety of data sources including Analysis Services Cubes and prepare for Web deployment.
# Utilize Analysis Services (SSAS) to design multi-dimensional models, including the construction of Data View, Dimensions, and Cubes while adhering to enforced development methodologies.
# Create ad-hoc queries and reports as requested and provide on-going analytical support for these requests. Convert existing reporting tools to a standardized reporting infrastructure using SQL and Microsoft products.
# Identify project risks and impediments, notify management, and proactively work with other members of the team to complete assigned tasks as defined by project scope, timelines, and budgets.
# Determine testing needed to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions, create test plans, and evaluate testing results taking corrective action as necessary.
# Identify data quality issues and support the data governance initiative by participating in necessary activities including data profiling.
# Assist in configuration and upgrades of BI software.
Experience
# Minimum 2 years experience with T-SQL
# Minimum 2 years experience with SQL Databases – SQL 2005 or SQL 2008
# Minimum 1 year experience with Reporting Services
# Experience using Visual Studio
# Experience using Team Foundation Server (TFS)
# Experience publishing reports / dashboards via SharePoint
# Experience creating dashboards using Performance Point & Proclarity BI tools
# Experience in data validation techniques
